Fluorite is my ultimate crystal, it always has been, and these little octahedrons might be my favourite way of showing you why!

When these first arrived, I intended to just sort them into their sizes and then get them listed on the website, but instead I sat there for ages, picking up piece after piece and really studying each one, how it felt, what it showed me, its energy and the little stories it held. The ones with purple patterns kept doing this thing where their lines vanished and then reappeared as I turned them in the light. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve flickered them in the light since I’ve had them, and even now, when I was taking their new photographs, I lost track of time because I was so captivated with them all.

The shape itself sent me down a proper rabbit hole, as I began to look into its shape meaning, because it turns out the ancient Greeks were fascinated by octahedrons. It’s one of only five shapes they believed the whole universe was built from, and this was the one they matched with air, with clear thinking and with breathing space. Which made me smile in agreement when I read it, because Fluorite is the one to reach for when your head is too full and your thoughts keep talking over each other, it’s the one that hides this exact shape inside itself. The clear thinking crystal has been quietly holding onto the clear thinking shape this whole time, and hardly anyone’s talking about it!

And clear thinking is only where Fluorite gets started. She’s long been known as the student’s crystal, a favourite for learning, memory and concentration, and she’s lovely for decision making too, helping you sort what actually matters from what’s just noise, and for bringing a bit of order back when life feels scattered. The two colours each bring their own flavour as well. Green is the softer, heart settling side, easing stress and old worries, while purple leans towards intuition and that quiet inner knowing, so a mixed batch like this covers far more ground than you’d expect from something small enough to sit in your palm.

Fluorite loves to live wherever your mind works hardest, which is exactly why mine lives on my desk, sitting right in my eyeline for the moments my thoughts start talking over each other. A work desk, a study corner, a bedside table if your head saves its loudest thinking for bedtime, they all make wonderful homes for one, although chances are you’ll already have a spot in mind before you’ve finished reading this sentence, and that little pull is worth trusting, because in my experience it usually knows exactly what it’s doing. They make a lovely gift for anyone preparing for an exam or a test too, especially the tiny ones, which are small enough to tuck into a pencil case or a pocket and go completely unnoticed by everyone except the person who knows it’s there.
