This chakra bracelet looks like a rainbow, but the order those colours run in was never anybody’s design decision.

When this bracelet was made, nobody sat down and decided that the black looked good next to the red or that the green wanted to be in the middle, the beads run in that order because that’s the order the chakras run in you, from the base of your spine right up to the top of your head, which means the layout of this bracelet was settled thousands of years before anyone thought to put it on elastic.

If chakras are new to you, the short version is that they’re seven points running up through you, and each one looks after a different part of how you feel or how you live your life.

First is the root chakra, which is based at the bottom of your spine. This is where anxiety forms, or general unsettled feelings. For this chakra, your bracelet contains black agate beads.
Going up from that is the sacral chakra, located in the lower abdomen, about two inches below your belly button. This chakra is linked to emotion and creativity. For this chakra, your bracelet has Carnelian beads.
If you move up from there, you’ll find your Solar Plexus Chakra. Positioned in the upper abdomen near the stomach, this chakra is all about personal power and confidence. The yellow jade beads on your bracelet are for this chakra.
Your heart chakra comes next and is in the centre of your chest near your heart. This is the chakra for love and relationships and compassion. Your bracelet contains Green Aventurine for this chakra.
Above the heart chakra, you’ll find the throat chakra, which is in your throat and base of your neck. This chakra is connected to communication and truth. Your bracelet contains Sodalite, which is the blue & white stones, which is connected to this chakra.
Moving further up, you’ll next find your third eye chakra, which is linked to your intuition, and inner wisdom. You’ll find Amethyst in your bracelet next to the Sodalite to help balance this chakra.
Finally, you have your crown chakra, which is found at the top of your head, which represents spirituality, and your higher consciousness. The clear quartz beads of your bracelet connect to this chakra perfectly.

There’s no rules on how or when to wear this bracelet. Some people put one on when they feel generally off and can’t work out which bit of themselves has slipped, some wear it daily and stop thinking about it altogether, and others hold whichever bead matches whatever they’re wrestling with that morning. You’ll land on your own version within about a week, and it’ll be better than anything I could suggest here.
